Education, the process shaped by the modern world, is not just a process that could be confined into the very term. Education is also a unique attempt to find the ultimate truth. As per Edmund Burke, renowned statesman and thinker “Education is the major defense of a nation”. The light of knowledge emanating from B Ed College Paippad has been playing a vital role in shaping generations with skill, knowledge and discernment in the socio – cultural and political realms of the region.
Located in a rural area, college is a great relief for ordinary students. Before 1992, higher education was just a dream for the students here. Since the establishment of the college, it has been possible to bring about great changes in the social and cultural sphere of the place. For the construction of the building a building committee formed by the Principal as Chairman and PTA President as convener and completed the construction of the first floor of the building.
B. Ed College, Paippad, is one among the 12 B.Ed. colleges started in 1992 as a part of Mahatma Gandhi University. The UCTE Paippad started functioning in the building that was lying vacant in the courtyard of Government High School, Paippad on 17.12.1992.
The inaugural function was chaired by the MLA, C F Thomas, Foundation Stone was laid by the Education Minister, ET Muhammad Basheer and Keynote address was by Dr. A. Sukumaran Nair, Vice Chancellor. In the function, Dr. P.M. Jalil, Director, School of Pedagogical Science delivered a note of gratitude.
The institution was presented with a crowning stroke in the academic year 2004-05. On completing 32 years of providing quality professional education, the institution achieved its dream of functioning in an own building. The role played by Prof. Radha Kaimal,former Principal ,in accomplishing this goal is commendable.
Owing to the constant efforts put in by the teachers, headed by the Principal, Mr. Josukutty Joseph, PTA President for the academic year 2004-05 and the PTA Executive along with the timely intervention by the MLA and Minister C.F. Thomas; sanction was obtained from the DPI to temporarily construct a college building on 15 cents of land belonging to the Higher Secondary School. It was also possible to lay the foundation stone in the land allotted by the DPI.

The B.Ed. Degree course (4 Semester) in this college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam. The admission is through a Centrallized Allotment Process done Mahatma Gandhi University of Kerala. The merit of the candidates will be decided on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The Management seats (50% of total intake of 50 students) will be filled by the Society Centre for Professional and Advanced Studies (CPAS) Kottayam.
